The six-hour telethon highlighted the wide range of activities based Chabad – summer camp to crisis intervention efforts and high level programs for drug rehab. Actor and comedian Elon Gold hosted the annual fundraiser with humor and grace, and veteran Mark Schiff comedy as her co-host. Telethon Co-Chairs Jerry Weintraub and Marshall Grossman also greeted the many guests of air and helped spread the word about Chabad's charitable efforts.

A broad cross-section of community leaders in Los Angeles – including Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Sheriff Lee Baca, Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky and City Councilman Jack Weiss – took the stage to give his support to the work of Chabad. John R. Fishel, President of the Jewish Federation Greater Los Angeles, also appeared on the program to encourage viewer donations.

In the study of celebrity guests included such films, TV and radio stars as Shelley Berman, Elliott Gould, Mare Winningham, Joshua Malina, Don Stark, Vic "The Jacobs" Brick, Dennis Prager, and from long time supporter Jon Voight Chabad. Also pre-recorded messages from Jackie Mason, Martin Sheen, Keith David, Craig Ferguson, Greg Grunberg, Mario Lopez, Jack McGee, Regis Philbin, Howie Mandel, and Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Telethon's musical lineup of leading Mordechai Ben David, Gad Elbaz, Day 8, Avraham Fried and the Yeshiva Boys Choir. The event began with a stirring performance of "The Star Spangled Banner", acclaimed by 6 year old prodigy Ethan Bortnick Piano.

Farolero Chabad Humanitarian Award was presented to architect Robert Kite, who was surrounded by family members when received recognition for their service to children in the hilltop campus in Running Springs Chabad.

The 27th anniversary edition of the telethon has been seen in major markets of the media in the United States, and was viewed online throughout the world ToLife. At the end of the night, the bag of viewer donations exceeded $ 7,180,000 – and other input contributions were still being tallied by the computer.
